World War II Database

This database indexes the names of Summit County World War II servicemen and servicewomen who were subjects in Akron Beacon Journal articles during the war. The database covers December 8, 1941 through December 31, 1945, but several articles from many years after the war are included. A few non-military citizens and selected local articles are also indexed. This index provides the title, date, and page where an article can be found in the Akron Beacon Journal, which is on microfilm in the Special Collections Division.
